Peer Review Policy

Journal of International Scholarship is an international journal. All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess originality, alignment with the journal’s aims and scope, and basic submission requirements. Manuscripts showing substantial originality concerns or misalignment may be returned or declined prior to review.

Submissions that pass this initial screening are subject to double-blind peer review. Reviewers with relevant expertise evaluate manuscripts for scholarly quality and contribution using a standardized evaluation rubric. Reviewers use a standardized rubric with 10-point rating scales to support consistent, balanced evaluation across disciplines. Reviewers consider these criteria in their ratings of whether a submission:

*Presents original work that adds to the field

*Demonstrates appropriate conceptual or theoretical grounding

*Is methodologically sound and ethically conducted

*Reports results clearly and accurately

*Draws conclusions supported by the data and appropriately synthesized references.

Editorial decisions are based on overall merit and are informed by reviewer recommendations. Authors receive a decision that may include comments intended to guide clarification or improvement. Minor stylistic issues do not typically delay publication.

Invited articles, editorials, and book or media reviews may be published at the editor’s discretion, with or without external peer review.
